A Glimpse into the Society

The Acquisition Log: “The Pleasure Island Auction”

“Following the closure of the legendary Adventurers Club in 2008, many artifacts were scattered to the winds. However, a specific collection of ‘field equipment’ surfaced recently at an auction in Orlando, mislabeled as ‘Vintage Camping Gear.’

Our curators recognized the markings immediately: the insignia of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers. We secured the lot immediately. These items were not merely props; they were part of the immersive theater that defined the golden age of Pleasure Island. They carry the energy of a thousand nights of ‘Kungaloosh!'”

Artifact History: The “Yakoose” Ceremonial Mug (Ceramic)

  • The Object: A first-edition ceramic vessel, glazed in a deep jungle green, depicting the mythological Yakoose.
  • The History: Sourced from the mid-90s era of the Adventurers Club, this vessel was used by members during induction ceremonies. Unlike modern reproductions, this piece features the heavier clay weight and the hand-painted “S.E.A.” stamp on the base. It sat on the shelves of the Mask Room, witnessing the antics of Hathaway Browne and the Club President.
  • Archivist Note: Includes original drink card residue on the bottom rim, verified as authentic to the venue.
